Beano Impressed By Stars
The City Stars’ Guest of Honour for our home game against Swindon Wildcats has paid tribute to the club.
James, who scored 106 goals for United, and now plays for Vanarama National League club Eastleigh FC, was hosted by club directors.
Known as Beano to the Kassam Stadium faithful, he took part in interviews with Selfie, signed autographs, posed for photos and presented the man of the match awards.
James said: “It’s great to see the club doing so well. It was a great match and I really enjoyed it, the players were class. I’m already looking forward to next time.”
Stars director, Greig Box Turnbull, added: “It was fantastic to see the rink full again, the fans were brilliant. Our thanks go to James for coming along as our special guest, it gave everyone a boost.”
Pupils from West Kidlington Primary School also attended the match, thanks to club sponsor the Sheehan Group, as part of a community partnership which will see children given educational workshops on recycling.
Keep tabs on the club’s social media channels for a competition to win a piece of Stars’ memorabilia signed by James.
