Brize Norton School Kids Learn From The Stars!
Last week, the Stars Community Team paid a visit to Brize Norton Primary School to talk about all things ice hockey. Club Ambassador James Clarke was joined by first team player Will Harrison and ex-player (and club legend) Andy Cox, and they spent time talking to the children about sport, fitness, teamwork and nutrition.
James Clarke said, “An engaging and positive assembly morning spent with Brize Norton Primary School discussing all aspects of ice hockey and the Oxford City Stars, with wonderful responses from the children that were extremely encouraging and a lot of fun”.
Andy Cox added, “It was a fantastic opportunity to be able to make our way in to Brize Norton school and to talk to the pupils about the Oxford City Stars. The number of children who seemed intent on making it to watch the Stars was great! They all seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves while listening to us talk about the Ice Hockey and they even had a chance to try on the playing kit.”
Jonty, 7, said “It was really inspiring and it looked really fun and it was a good way to get people to learn a new sport.”
Children and parents from the school then attended the Stars opening game of the season against Slough Jets on Saturday night, and helped cheer the team on to an 8-2 victory!
