Brothers & Legends Confirmed For Elliott Testimonial!

10th May 2019    News

We are pleased to announce that current Stars player Josh Florey will be icing for the Testimonial Oxford Team! Josh is another product of the Oxford junior setup and is a versatile player who has the ability to utilise his skills in both forward or defence when required. He is another all action guy who seems to have been around the game forever despite his tender age and who can often be seen around the rink donning a Peaky Blinders style flat cap! A hard working hockey player who thrives off of representing his home town club, Josh will add that familiar face to the game for the current supporters and returning ones alike.

Another player confirmation for the Testimonial Oxford Team in the form of Jake Florey! Jake has been an ever present for the Stars over the last six years and during that has iced of 150 times for the team and in the process won the NIHL2 championship on two occasions along with the NIHL National Title. Known by the fans for chipping in with vital goals using his big slap shot from the blue line Jake is a laid back character who is received well by all involved and we hope that he will bring out the canoe celebration should he find the back of the net on the night!

Completing the hat-trick of brothers is Max Florey! Max who is the youngest of the three Florey brothers is a current member of the Stars roster which saw him step up this season for the first time as a fully-fledged member of the senior team. This talented player who has featured in the South West Conference setup throughout his junior playing years is a local lad who works tirelessly for the team. We are sure that Max will add some of that youthful energy on the ice that may be missing from some of the more ‘senior’ players who are skating on the night!

Former Captain and Stars legend is confirmed for the Testimonial Select Team! James Clarke who has represented his home town during multiple stints at the club has featured in over 200 games for the Stars and was an essential part of the team that lifted the NIHL2 Championship trophy during the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons. Clarke is a well-regarded figure within City Stars club and has more recently taken on the role of club ambassador, where he attends local school assemblies to promote the Stars and the Oxford setup. Always a fun guy around the locker room who definitely has the Stars club firmly etched in his heart will no doubt provide that fun factor to the testimonial game.

Another Stars legend is lined up to skate for the Testimonial Select Team! This American import who is now regarded by everyone at the club as an Oxfordian first appeared for the Stars back in 1989 and has since made Oxford his home. In recent years this very popular and extremely high scoring forward has had the honour of having one of the Oxpens Arena stands named after him which clearly demonstrates just how highly he is thought of by the Stars fan base. Prachar astonishingly smashed the 100 point mark for the Stars in each of his first five seasons and will no doubt be seeking to turn back the clocks and replicate his fantastic scoring feats!
