7th September 2019    News

The City Stars have a brilliant new prize for this season’s match-day ‘Chuck a Puck’ competition – a pair of tickets to Oxford United.

The special prize comes as part of the club’s growing partnership with Oxford United in the Community, the football club’s official charity.

As part of the Oxfordshire United movement Oxford United in the Community are providing a pair of tickets for the Family Stand for league games for our Chuck a Puck competition.

More exciting news on the Oxfordshire United partnership will follow soon!

Chuck a Puck costs just £1 to enter and takes place in the second interval. The competition consists of throwing a puck at a fixed target on the ice and the closest puck to the target wins.

Chris Lowes, Head of Operations at Oxford United in the Community, said: “We’re proud to enhance our relationship with the Oxford City Stars this season. We both share the same community values and passion for encouraging people to take up sports, be the best they can be and lead healthy lifestyles. Hopefully this season the Oxfordshire public will back both clubs superbly and this prize is an opportunity for us to support the Stars and give a little bit back into the community.”

Greig Box Turnbull, Oxford City Stars director, said: “A big thank you to Oxford United in the Community for providing the Stars with such a great prize for our match-day competition. I am sure it will be eagerly contested. We are all passionate about sport in Oxfordshire and it makes sense to work together more. We’re keen to really reinvigorate the Oxfordshire United movement this season and this is the first of what we hope will be many great initiatives that will celebrate the pride we all have for the county.”

The first Chuck a Puck competition will take place at this Sunday’s friendly match v London Raiders.
