Club statement: match postponed

Oxford City Stars have postponed Sunday’s home fixture against Invicta Dynamos, due to the Coronavirus.

The decision has not been taken lightly and was done so following discussions at management level and with players.

It was also taken in partnership with Invicta Dynamos, who have a player self-isolating.

While the NIHL stated last night, its position is fixtures should continue the overwhelming view among both clubs was that of concern.

The decision was taken with the best interests of the welfare of everyone involved and our duty of care to players, backroom staff and supporters.

Ice hockey is of course important to us, but we must put health first in this unprecedent global situation.

Should the fixture be rearranged tickets will be valid, or refunds will be available.

This is a fast-moving situation and we will continue to monitor in respect to future fixtures and hope we will be able to continue the season.
