Dax Hedges signs again for Oxford City Stars

6th July 2016    News

Last season’s stars alternative captain, Dax Hedges, has re-signed for Oxford City Stars.

Hedges had a brilliant 2015/16 season playing for the Stars, often blocking shots and putting himself out there for his team. He plays a really good game of hockey and there’s no doubt that it’s great to have him back on board. Despite being a good two-way player, Hedges plays as a forward and will build upon the existing offensive line-up already secured ready for September.

On talking about re-signing, Dax Hedges said, “I’ve been working most weekends as not been playing. Also got married so had a few weekends of partays. Really looking forward to it after our success of last season and I think we will be able to improve on the ice as well as off. Of course meeting the new guys whom have signed to become part of the family and getting back on the ice with the boys from last season.

Likewise, coach Simon Anderson is also pleased to have Hedges back to play for the Stars. “I have nothing but good things to say about Dax. Heart and soul of this team, plays bigger than his size. Prides himself on his work ethic and being a solid defensive forward. Great shot blocker, puts his body on the line every night and I always said that if we had 20 Dax Hedges, we would have won a championship already. Delighted to have this guy back.
