Duffy returns to the Stars

Oxford City Stars have re-signed netminder Mark Duffy for the new campaign.

Fans’ favourite Duffy returns to Oxpens for his fourth season at the Stars following a short stint back at Bracknell Hornets last season.

The signing of Duffy ensures the Stars have two strong netminders for the eagerly awaited 2019/20 campaign.

Duffy said: “I’m delighted to return to Oxford, I feel like it’s my second home.

“It was a real shame to leave last season but, in the circumstances, it was the best thing for me, so when I got the chance to come back it was such an easy decision.

“This season is so exciting; the league is going to be so competitive which I’m sure will make us all bring our best. I’m going to be fighting to be at my best every week and am looking forward to working with Milan again.

“It is also great to be playing for the coach that first brought me to Oxford and really gave me my first chance in the shirt. I can’t wait to get started.”

Head Coach Simon Anderson said: “It’s great to welcome Duffman back.

“He is a guy with an awesome attitude, he is a very well-liked and respected individual in our room.

“This made it an easy decision for me to bring him back. He is a very capable goalie at this level and along with Milan will give us one of the best goaltending tandems in the league.” The 31-year-old netminder was a key member of the Stars’ NIHL2 league and cup double-winning squad in the 2017/18 season.
