Elliott signs on for season 17!
Oxford City Stars are pleased to announce their first signing of the new season as the returning Darren Elliott.
Oxford born Darren re-signs for the club, eager to step up and face the challenges of the new NIHL South season.
Elliott 35, has put pen to paper on his 17th season representing Oxford City Stars. The Forward who had an injury restricted season last term will be lacing up his skates again, keen to play a part in Oxford’s return to life in the second tier of British Ice Hockey
Coach Simon Anderson said “I’m delighted to get Darren’s signature, A real leader, presence both on and off the ice. Darren’s the heartbeat of this club and has been for years. He’s been a great Captain for the team over the past 3 seasons, making this club one to be reckoned with. This season will obviously test that with the new league set up but with Darren on the ice leading the team, don’t bet against us”
Returning Elliott added “ I’m very excited about next year, new league set up, new team-mates that I can’t talk about yet! It’s a huge leap up for us and it’s going to be a challenge for us but we’re keen to get cracking”
Darren who has over 330 appearances for his home town club will be part of the Stars squad as they start their NIHL1 South campaign in September this year.
