Florey returns for another season – part 2

Josh Florey is, once again, returning to join his brother Jake in playing for the Stars for the 2017/18 season.

Florey first played for Oxford as a junior in the Under 16s team in 2004, and continued to play out of Oxpens Road until 2008 when he went on to play for various teams including Basingstoke, Wightlink and Milton Keynes, with a few spells playing for Oxford in between. The last 4 seasons however he has been a regular at Oxpens Road playing for his hometown club.

Josh brings good offensive skill to the side and is the kind of player who knows how to keep the puck moving across the ice.

Expressing his thoughts on resigning for the Stars, Florey said, “I’m really pleased to sign up with the Stars for another season, I’ve enjoyed my time here over the last few years and with the now closer ties with the Junior teams there’s a real opportunity for the senior players to contribute towards the long term future of the club. I can’t wait to get started”.

In addition, Head Coach Kenny Redmond said: “Another local lad that has established himself in a stars jersey, Josh is a hard working forward who wins his battles in the corner and will stick up for his team mates when required. He fits in well with the passionate style of hockey I want us to play and I’m sure we’ll see the best of Josh this season”.
