Guess who’s back, back again, Joey’s back, tell a friend!
Yet another great signing for the new season comes in the form of Joe Edwards.
Edwards is a name that will be more than familiar with any Oxford City Stars fan, as since 2008 he has played for Oxford for the majority of the seasons during that time, with the exception of the 2011/12 season when Joe iced for Milton Keynes Thunder.
Over the last 5 seasons, Edwards has played 131 games for the Stars and in that time has amounted 62 goals and 59 assists. This comes to an impressive total of 121 points for his club overall.
When talking about signing for Oxford again, Edwards expressed “I can’t wait to get back on the ice with the guys, I have been here a long time now and there is no better feeling than working with this team and representing these fans. I’ve always shared an interest in developing the juniors and getting on the ice with them on Wednesdays at practice, and merging the organisations was a logical step that had to be taken to develop the future Stars. See you in September!”
New Head Coach, Kenny Redmond also added “It’s great to have another local lad and born leader back in the form of Joe Edwards. Joe has great individual skill, has an eye for goal, and he leads by example on the ice which inspires his team mates.”
