Clarification on our remaining games this season, and what competitions they’re all part of…

NIHL2 South Regular Season

The main competition we’ve played in this season, commonly known as ‘the league’, we won this last weekend! We have 1 game left to play, away to Solent Devils on Saturday 7th April.

NIHL2 South Play-offs

This is a competition between the top 8 teams in NIHL2 South, and will commence following completion of the regular season. It follows a quarter/semi/final format, with the quarter final being a 2-legged home/away tie, and the semi-finals and final being individual games that make up ‘finals weekend’ in Bracknell on 21/22nd April. The team that wins this play-off series will gain promotion to NIHL1.

The precise quarter final line-ups are TBC, but they will be based on the following regular season finishing positions:

1st vs 8th

2nd vs 7th

3rd vs 6th

4th vs 5th

We will play our away leg on Saturday 14th April and our home leg on Sunday 15th April.

NIHL2 Championship Game

This is a one off game between the winners of NIHL2 South (us) and the winners of NIHL2 North (Sutton Sting), taking place at 12:30 on Sunday 8th April at Planet Ice Coventry, as part of the NIHL1 ‘final 4’ play-off weekend. For the Stars this is a one-off cup final, the prize being a trophy and the honour of being crowned NIHL2 National Champions. This game has no bearing on promotion to NIHL1.
