Jason Ikin re-signs for the Stars
Oxford City Stars have re-signed defenceman Jason Ikin.
Head Coach Simon Anderson secured Ikin to add to the squad following a spate of injuries.
Ikin, 22, previously played for the Stars until a horror hand injury forced him onto the side-lines for a year. He then played in Canada for a season and recently returned to the UK.
Jason said: “I’m very excited to be back playing for the Oxford City Stars. It’s been great to reconnect with familiar faces and to meet new team-mates.
“I’m really looking forward to working hard with the guys for team success and particularly looking forward to working with Simon again to improve my own game even more.”
Simon said: “It’s well documented that we had an injury crisis during November and December, so I was on the hunt for guys to come in to help us and give us some depth.
“Jason is a familiar face and someone who I knew could do a decent job for us.
“He is a great kid to have around, always positive and gives his best whenever he steps on the ice.
“Jason has had some good development playing in Canada recently and has returned a better player with good habits and in good physical condition.
“He has had a hard time recently with a real bad injury, so I am happy to give him an opportunity to play again and I know whenever he is called on he will not let us down.”
Jason’s jersey’s are now available for Own and Loan – get in touch to secure either the home or away shirt.
