Josh Florey: “It’s not something we take lightly”
Captain Josh Florey sends a message to the fans following Sunday’s huge defeat to the Invicta Dynamos.
The Stars went into the game with few offensive options. Mike Whillock, Matt Lawday and Dax Hedges were all unavailable for selection with short-term absences and David Manning had not yet recovered from a longer-term injury.
The first period ended 2-0 to the hosts with their second goal coming with only a second on the clock. In the next periods, goals from Joe Edwards and Jake Williams did little to break a goal spree from the Dynamos. The game finished 11-2 meaning the hosts have scored 34 times in only their last 3 fixtures whereas Oxford in comparison had only managed 6.
It was a disappointing night for the Stars and the travelling support who had made their longest away journey. Florey had this to say to the fans:
“On behalf of myself and the team, we would like to recognise our disappointing recent performances. It’s not something we take lightly, and we are working hard to improve on both scores & performances!
“We would like to thank the fans, for their continued support. It’s huge for us to have such great support no matter what the score. Thank you for sticking with us so far, we’re hoping to bring you the results you deserve soon!
“Onwards & upwards!”
