OXFORD CITY STARS RE-SIGN NICK OLIVER

22nd July 2016    News

With much delight, Oxford City Stars can announce the return of Nick Oliver.

Nick has spent a great deal of time playing for Oxford City Stars, having started his career playing in the junior ranks, and continuing to play for Oxford as a senior. Nick has been the club’s captain in the past and is truly a one club player, having never played for anyone other than Oxford. Needless to say everyone at the Stars is delighted to have Nick re-sign for the 2016/17 season.

Nick is pleased to be playing for Oxford City Stars again this season, “I’m really happy to be back, last season we improved so much and I really wanted to be a part of us pushing forward even further. The team looks really strong, we have lost a few guys from last season but have replaced them with some top quality players that can help us this coming season. We have a good mix of experience and exciting young players, and can compete in every game due to the depth available in the squad. I think top 4 has to be the benchmark we aim for, with anything else coming as a bonus. We need to keep building for the future, and as the club has such a good structure in place there is no reason why we can’t make ground on the teams who have dominated the league over the past 4 or 5 seasons.”

Simon Anderson is also delighted with the signing, “Great to have Nick back for another season. A solid two way centre who commands the faceoff circle and prides himself on his solid defensive play. I will be challenging Nick to continue his solid defensive work and to also up his goalscoring, which he is definitely capable of. A great guy to have about the place and I am looking forward to working with him again.”
