Milan Ronai becomes a Star!
At the start of the 2017/18 season, a brand new face will be joining the Oxford City Stars in the shape of netminder Milan Ronai
21 year old Milan joins the Stars from having played for the Bracknell Hornets last season. He has multiple season’s worth of experience playing British ice hockey, having played for the junior teams of Solent & Gosport and Guildford.
During the 2013/14 season, Milan made the move back to Hungary where he played in the Hungary U18, Hungary U20 and the Slovakia U20 leagues. After this spell abroad, he then returned last year where he spent the season with the Hornets.
Milan spoke about his signing with Oxford, “I am very excited to be part of the Stars setup this coming season, I think the team has shown a lot of potential in the last couple of years, and I am really looking forward to getting started and helping the team develop further”.
Recently appointed Head Coach Kenny Redmond spoke about Milan, having worked with him last season: “I’m delighted to bring Ronai to Oxford. Ronai played his junior hockey at Guildford before returning to play in Hungary. He improved immensely last season at Bracknell and is a great team player. We have great strength in depth now with 2 top goalies”.
