Shannon Long re-joins the Stars

Netminder signs for 16/17 season

22nd September 2016    News

Oxford City Stars are pleased to announce the signing of Netminder Shannon Long for the 16/17 Season.

Shannon iced for the team last year and is being signed up as the Stars look to deepen their squad.  With the Stars squad hit with injuries across the opening fixtures, Coach Simon Anderson wanted to add depth to his roster.

Head Coach Anderson added, “I’m pleased to have Shannon back on board, he gives me more options and having 4 keepers in the roster (Annetts, Duffy, Burton and now Long) will keep everyone on their toes and provide cover”.

Long added: “Couldn’t be more excited to be back with the lads on and off the ice!! It’s a great club going in great directions!! When the coach of the year from last season calls you and asks for you to come back to help you’d be stupid to turn it down!!”

Shannon goes straight into the squad for this weekend’s matches against London Raiders away and the Cup game vs Milton Keyes at Oxpens Road on Sunday- Face off 6:15
