Stars Mascot Comet Makes It To Oxpens Thanks To The Oxford Bus Company

1st March 2018    News

Comet turned heads when he travelled to Oxpens by bus at the weekend to cheer on the Stars.

There were concerns Comet would not be able to get to the rink for the Stars’ home game against Swindon Wildcats, after his sledge broke down.

But after a few frantic calls on the Comet phone help was at hand thanks to club sponsor the Oxford Bus Company.

Our friends at the Oxford Bus Company provided Comet with a special VIP ticket for the Park & Ride service from Seacourt to the city centre.

Comet mingled with passengers and fans and spread the Stars message as he travelled into Oxford and later joined the huge crowd of supporters entering Oxpens.

An Oxford Bus Company spokesman said: “It was great to see Comet and everyone was delighted the Stars won back to back matches at the weekend. More and more ice hockey fans are using our bus network to attend matches and we’ll always have room for Comet.”
