Stars snap up James Constable

10th October 2019    News

We are delighted to announce former Oxford United striker and all round Oxford legend James ‘Beano’ Constable has signed up with the Stars for the remainder of the 2019/20 season. The news comes in a week of ice hockey ex-footballer announcements, after Guildford Phoenix announced that ex-Chelsea and Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech was joining their ranks, and Coventry Blaze followed up by ending speculation about Coventry City legend Steve Ogrizovic signing for them.

Stars director Greig Box Turnbull said: “Beans means goals. Welcome home Beano”.

Beano said: “I’ve never played ice hockey in my life so I’ll probably be useless, but it’ll give the rest of the lads something to laugh about if nothing else. I can’t wait to pull on the yellow jersey again!”
