The visitors were able to score five times unanswered in just the first 20 minutes of play. For the whole of the first period, the Stars struggled to break down a very strong Bracknell side and were punished with five clinical goals from the visitors.

Soon after the restart, Josh Oliver scored the Stars first league goal of the season. This was followed by a long range goal from captain Josh Florey.

Josh Oliver then scored two further goals to complete a hat-trick and reduce the score deficit to just one goal at the end of the second period.

Mike Whillock got the equaliser in the middle of the third period and to the amazement of all at Oxpens, David Manning clinched a winner soon after to the delight of the home crowd!

The Stars did well to hold off a final flurry of offence from the Hornets and to see out the game victorious.
