Stars to honour Armed Forces on Remembrance Sunday

5th November 2019    News

Oxford City Stars will mark Remembrance Sunday with a special ceremony – and free entry for veterans and Armed Forces personnel.

The club will welcome any current or former military personnel for free at the home match v Chelmsford Chieftains on Sunday.

The Division One South match falls on Remembrance Sunday with a 6.15pm face-off and the club will honour the annual commemoration.

Armed Forces personnel are asked to present their Service ID card, or British Veterans Recognition Card on the door to access the offer.

The Last Post will be played before the match and a minute’s silence will be observed.

Stars director Greig Box Turnbull said: “Remembrance Sunday is always a time for reflection and an emotional time for many. As a club we’re part of the community and that includes the military. Offering free entry to our military is an honour and we hope to do them proud.”
