Teenage forward returns to Oxford

26th July 2019    News

Oxford City Stars have signed forward Jake Williams on a ‘two way’ from Swindon Wildcats 2.

The 17-year-old is a former Stars junior player who moved into the Okanagan Hockey Academy UK at Swindon to develop his game. Last season he iced 15 times for Swindon Wildcats 2 last season scoring 7 goals.

The teenager is now looking forward to icing for his home-town club.

Jake said: “I’m looking forward to be playing with Oxford being my local club and having started here as a U14 and I’m excited to see how senior hockey develops me after my past two seasons with OHA.”

Head Coach Simon Anderson said: “I’m looking forward to working with Jake.

“I’m delighted Swindon have agreed to allow Jake to come over to us and I thank Aaron Nell for setting this up.

“Jake has had a great hockey education in the OHA UK programme under Ryan Aldridge and will come to us ready to play. This is a great chance for Jake to test himself at the next level, here in Oxford.”
