Win Your Business Name On The Stars Home Shirt!

20th April 2018    News,Sponsorship

Oxford City Stars are giving local businesses the chance to have their name emblazoned on the front of the team’s home shirt next season, via a community driven competition.

Companies and charities can enter by paying just £100 to win the sponsorship prize worth £2,000.

Entry is via £100 donations to the Stars’ Just Giving campaign designed to raise money to help the club fund a community engagement programme that will see players visit schools regularly.

Every entrant will receive a season ticket for next season – which covers the full value of the investment in the draw based on the early bird price of £100 for an adult.

The winner will see their logo placed on the home shirt next season.

Stars director Greig Box Turnbull said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to support the Stars and what we are building as a club.

“The entry cost covers a season ticket and the incredible opportunity to appear on the home shirt and gain fantastic exposure.

“Additionally, all money raised will really help us go out and make a difference across the county to so many youngsters. It’s a campaign aimed at helping us help others.”

The Stars are looking for a minimum of 20 entries to cover the cost of the value of the sponsorship.

If it is not achieved the prize will revert to the away shirt, if there are 10 entries.

Stars director Russell Shrives added: “The beauty of the competition is people get the equivalent of their money back, via the season ticket, which is superb value anyway. So, there is no risk and the funds go towards really important work in the community.”

Red Corner, RJS Waste and Buildbase have already entered the competition, by donating to the Stars’ Just Giving page.

The club needs £15,000 to run a full community engagement programme next season. It has pledged to build on the success of this season’s growing community projects with schools, junior football teams and cub and scout groups. Players, directors and the club mascot, Comet, have volunteered to deliver inspirational assemblies to children at various schools.

A partnership was also formed between the club, Oxford construction and recycling firm the Sheehan Group and West Kidlington School, which saw workshops delivered to pupils.

James Clarke, club Ambassador, said: “We have seen the positive effect the outreach has had on so many children and we would like to take this work to the next level.”

The competition closes on 22nd June 2018, all donations received after that date will not be eligible to participate in the competition.
