Oxford City Stars have re-signed forward Theo Bundock.
The Stars have agreed a 2-way arrangement with development club Oxford Rising Stars for Bundock to play for the NIHL2 side. Theo will train with both the Stars and the Rising Stars and play for the Stars on occasion. The 2-way deal provides Bundock with more ice time in Oxford and more opportunities to develop his game.
The 23-year-old who scored 11 goals in 30 appearances for the Stars last season is looking forward to the new season.
He said: “Oxford is my local club and I love playing at Oxpens. I’m looking forward to playing for both the Stars and the Rising Stars this season. It is a new approach at Oxford and will give me more time on the ice and more experience which I want.”
Head Coach Simon Anderson said: “We see Theo as a player with a big future for us here in Oxford and we’re pleased to have re-signed him.
“I spoke to Theo about his development in the summer and that he has a perfect opportunity to develop as a player and we quickly drew up a plan to enhance the opportunities open for him.
“One of those opportunities was loan him to our development club the Rising Stars on a 2-way agreement, where Theo can practice with both senior teams and also be available for games.
“Theo had a great attitude about this and could see that he had a fantastic opportunity to get on the ice at various times during the week which will undoubtedly give the best chance possible to enhance his game.
“He has all the attributes to become a well-rounded and complete player and we believe the spell with the development team will enable him to be a go to player and play a massive part in a leadership role. I'm excited to see Theo take big strides this year.”
