The Oxford City Stars are pleased to secure the services of 16 year old defenceman, Felix Hemmings-Maher, who joins the club for the 24/25 season from the Basingstoke U-18’s
Felix joins the Defensive ranks amongst the Stars and responded with this sentiment when asked about signing:
“Hello Stars Fans;
I’m really excited to be playing in Oxford for the upcoming season. It’s a great opportunity for me to continue my hockey education, learning from Coach Saunders and the other members of the team.
Really looking forward to playing in front of a big crowd and hopefully adding to the team.
Let’s go Oxford!!”
Coach Saunders had this to say about Felix:
Felix is a young player I’ve watched for a few years now since he came onto the scene when I was involved at South West Conference and he’s progressed very well into an accomplished young defenceman since then.
He moves the puck well, has confidence to make plays which is key when transitioning into senior hockey and I’m excited to work with him to further nurture his talent.
He will be a key member of our defensive group for this upcoming campaign and I’m sure he will relish the challenges ahead.
Felix, another product of the Basingstoke Junior Bison, adds to an ever growing roster of youngsters as the Stars continue to look towards the future. Felix put up impressive numbers during his time there and will look to add to those with the Stars. Felix will also ice for the Oxford Junior Stars U-18’s this season.
