The Oxford City Stars are pleased to secure the services of 22 year old Romanian forward, Mario Chiru, who joins the club for the 24/25 season from the Milton Keynes Thunder.
Mario joins his fellow forwards in the roster and had this to say upon signing:

I'm very glad to be signing with Oxford City Stars for the upcoming season and I'm very keen to get things started. It's a pleasure to meet the teammates, play in front of a big crowd and to work alongside Mark and I can't wait to get back on ice.

Chiru made the step up to NIHL1 last season as he joined Milton Keynes Thunder, after 2 seasons with the Coventry NIHL Blaze in the Northern 2 division.
Coach Saunders spoke about our new signing:
“When Mario reached out about coming to Oxford he was already very keen to come and make an impact with us and I’ve been really pleased with the way he’s knitted straight in with the room.
He’s got a good skill set, an energy about him that is infectious and I’m sure he’ll have no problem impacting our performances in a positive way, starting this weekend!”
